Ashima Leena Show
Spring is in the air! Ashima Leena's show at WIFW echoed the spring spirit The collection presented this year was a modern take on the traditional Jamawar print. Beautifully reinterpretated and tailored to the suit the sartorial senses of the contemparary woman.

The motifs were floral with paisely dominating the works in silk tread embroidery. The colours used were earthy from peach , green to creamy white. The collection displayed drapped and wide leg pants teamed with jackets, sarees with closed neckline blouses with collars, long tunics, high slit Kurtas teamed with Plazzo pants. The duo showcased a good mix of fabrics like satin, silk and chiffon. A sheer saree teamed with a brocade bandhgala blouse with intricate work inspired for the jali work of Taj Mahal on the neck and sleeves was something new that I witnessed . It would be any modern Indian  woman's delight as it required no jewellery to complete the look.

The collection

In Ashima -Leena's words the collection is inspired from Central Asia & surrounding regions which has a global appeal that will suit women of all ages.
Never knew a simple Jamwar print can be made to look so Chic! I thought it best suited the 60 plus. I was so wrong...
Drapping can be dramatic without being loud
Love the sheer backless blouse

I think the collection is for someone looking at elegance with subtle designs but sharp cuts for occasional wear. It's suitable for middle aged women who can look beyond the predictable bright saree, suits and lehengas
